Historically documentaries have seldom been profitable investments. However, within the past two or three years, documentaries have increasingly emerged as a profitable sub-set of the independent film world. At festivals such as Sundance, Toronto and Cannes in the past two years, documentaries such as The Corporation, Super Size Me, Dig, and Neverland. sold for prices rivaling the strongest fiction film sales at those festivals. A handful of distribution companies, including Sony Pictures Classics, ThinkFilm, Magnolia and Focus Features have increasingly marshaled their significant distribution expertise and resources behind documentary releases. With this new view on documentary films along with our unique storyline, we feel confident that this the ideal time to produce this film Everest Rescue.
